Automotive Technician | European Shop | Richmond, VA

Bimmer Rescue is looking for a strong technician who already takes pride in what they do and wants to keep getting better.
This is a busy shop with high standards, and we need somebody who can handle that. You need to show up on time, be dependable, move from one car to the next without being chased and be able to produce strong hours while still keeping your work clean and your quality high.

That quality applies to more than nuts and bolts. We care about the diagnosis, the DVI, the communication along the way and whether the finished car is truly right when it leaves.

Most of what we work on is BMW, MINI, Audi, Volkswagen, Porsche, Mercedes Benz and Tesla, with some domestic and Asian vehicles mixed in. A Virginia State Inspector is strongly preferred, or at minimum someone who can go out and pass the VSI test quickly.

What Makes Bimmer Rescue Different

Skip runs the shop, and he is a big part of what makes the place work.
He knows cars, understands technician language and respects what it takes to do the job well. More importantly, he understands people. He works hard to make sure the counter keeps good work coming in the door, and if you show him that you can produce, communicate, do quality work and be counted on even when nobody is standing over you, he will take very good care of you.

Then there is Tom, our shop foreman.
Tom is one of the biggest advantages our technicians have because he truly cares about the team and about helping good technicians get better. He knows everybody's strengths, dispatches work fairly and if you get buried in a diagnosis or run into something new, he is there to help you work your way through it.

He is not there to carry people who do not want to learn. He is there to make sure good technicians do not get left alone to drown.
That is a big difference.

The Shop Is Built for Production

We have an air conditioned shop, approximately 1.8 lifts per technician, factory and aftermarket diagnostic equipment, special tools for the work we perform and your own computer setup with access to the information systems you need.
BMW technicians will appreciate that we run KSD X2. If you know what that means, you already understand why that matters.
We also have dedicated estimating support, parts are received and organized for you, and if a job requires a special tool we do not own, we buy it and put it into inventory.
The whole goal is to remove as much unnecessary friction as possible so you can spend your time diagnosing cars, fixing cars, producing hours and getting better at what you do.
We also use Slack heavily for communication throughout the company, along with a completely unnecessary number of memes.
